Bruce Edward Dayton, of Gainesville, Florida and formerly a resident of Uniontown, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2009, at University of Florida's, Shands Medical Center. Born on November 17, 1953, in Brownsville, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Roy F. Dayton, Uniontown, and Mary Lou Dayton, Summerville, SC.
Bruce graduated from Laurel Highlands High School and attended California State University. He worked for Roy F. Dayton Insurance, Combined Insurance, American General, and Nationwide Insurance. He is survived by his sons, Specialist Jesse L. Dayton, currently deployed in Iraq, and Brennen L. Dayton, of St. Petersburg, Florida, a brother, Bryan H. Dayton, and his wife, Mary, of Ann Arbor, MI, ister, Brenda D. Lewellyn and her husband, Charles Lewellyn, of Summerville, SC, nephews, Matthew, Jonathan, and Patrick, and neice, Moira, great nephew, Dayton, and special companion, Mary Patterson. Bruce had a love for music and was a musician and sound technician, building and running his own studio. He had been a member of Crossroads, Me & The Boys, and ran sound for many local bands including Highlife and the Vogues. He loved riding his motorcycle, fishing in his boat, camping, and most importantly, spending time with his sons.
