Paul B. Nixon Sr., 59, of Lemont Furnace, Pa. 15456 passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 with his loving fiancée by his side. Paul was born in Uniontown, Pa., the son of Samuel and Dorothy Nixon.
Paul was a loving generous man who was devoted to his family and friends. Paul loved the outdoors and was extremely proud of his flower gardens. He was an avid Harley Davidson fan and loved riding his chromed out Harley Davidson 1200SE Custom Sportster with his son, Aaron, and his friend, Duck Cole. He was also a collector of Jack Daniels memorabilia. He was the superintendent of the Fayette County Bridge Department for 16 years. Prior to his work with the county, he was employed at Goodwill Industries of Fayette County. Paul loved helping others in any way he could and will be fondly remembered by us all.
He was predeceased by his father and a sister who died in infancy. In addition to his mother Dorothy, who resides in New Hampshire, he is survived by his fiance, Rhonda Galie at home. He is also survived by his son, Aaron Nixon, and wife, Leigh Ann his son, Paul Nixon Jr., and wife, Lora grandchildren, Elizabeth Stanton, Bradley Nixon, Rachel Nixon and Sheila Nixon and his sister, Myra, and wife, Gail, of New Hampshire. He is also survived by many great friends but especially Roger Victor, Bill Arnold, Duck Cole, Warren Hughes, Doug Matis, Eddie Bilek and Brian Wiles.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m when a memorial service will be held at the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 W. Church St., Fairchance. Donations may be made in Paul's memory to Goodwill Industries of Fayette County.
